“Becoming a priest or a man or woman religious is not primarily our own decision…. Rather it is the response to a call and to a call of love.”

Pope Francis

As he walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea—for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him. (Matthew 4:18-20)

The call to priesthood or consecrated life is a beautiful one. It is an intimate and intensive way that God involves us in His project of salvation. Discernment can be a long and difficult process, which is why the Diocese offers programs and resources to support individuals discerning priesthood and religious life.

If you or someone you know feels they have a vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life please contact the Vocations Office at the Diocese of Palm Beach: (561) 775-9552 or send a message from their webpage at: https://palmbeachvocations.com/contact/
