Pope Leo XIV has not only accepted the resignation of our current Bishop, Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito, but has appointed Father Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez, currently pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Corona (Queens), New York, as the sixth Bishop of Palm Beach.
The bishop-elect succeeds Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito, who has served the diocese since 2003.
The Diocese of Palm Beach is forever grateful to Bishop Barbarito for his more than 22 years of paternal leadership. Bishop Barbarito has been a diligent shepherd teaching our community to live the truth in Love by his example and encouragement. He is an inspiration for devotion to our Blessed Mother teaching us to walk hand in hand with her to Christ our Lord.
