The St. Jude Music Ministry serves at all weekend and Holy Day Masses, except the 7:30 a.m. If you are interested in serving at the Saturday afternoon mass at 4 p.m., the 9:00 a.m. or the 10:30 a.m. masses on Sunday, or the Sunday 5:30 p.m. Family Mass, the rehearsal schedule and requirements are as follows:
Saturday 4 p.m.
Cantors for this mass attend our Thursday evening rehearsal at 7:00 p.m. Ability to read music is necessary, as well as advanced training. To audition please call Nicholas Christodoulidis at (561) 746-7974.
Sunday 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.
These choirs are open to adults and high school youth. The music is a mix of traditional and contemporary styles. Ability to read music is a plus, but not necessary! This group serves on Sundays and Holy Days. Rehearsal is on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the church. Woodwind and brass instrumentalists are welcome, but must audition.
Sunday 5:30 p.m.
This ensemble is open to high school youth who have been confirmed, as well as adults. The music at this mass is contemporary praise and worship. Ability to read music is a plus, but not necessary. Rehearsal is on Sunday from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. Guitar, piano, bass, winds, and drums are welcome, but must audition.
Youth Choir
The St. Jude Youth Choir is open to young people from 3rd thru the 9th grade. This choir currently participates at the 9:00 mass on Sunday, once a month, as well as special masses for Christmas and First Communion and other special occasions. This group also participates in at least one concert performance during the year. A chime choir often participates along with the Youth Choir. Rehearsal for Youth Choir and Chimes is on Thursday from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. Ability to read music is not necessary, however ability to read text is.
Although audition is necessary for cantors and instrumentalists, everyone, including our seasonal residents, is welcome to participate in our music ministry ensembles.
