To make the Love of Christ evident in our Parish as you greet people arriving for Mass.
Responsibilities
Provide a warm, welcoming environment by greeting parishioners and visitors with a friendly, genuine smile while assisting them in locating a seat and tending to their other needs.
Helpful Attributes
Your friendliness helps prepare worshippers for the celebration they have come to share in. Strangers need to be put at ease, visitors need to feel welcomed; the physically and mentally challenged need to experience the love of the community and realize their presence is valued. This requires charity that is patient and kind with persons who may be difficult. As ‘hosts at the feast’ the role of the Usher is to see that each guest feels welcomed, wanted and special. A warm, genuine smile and perhaps a handshake, your friendly greeting is all it takes to enhance each person’s sense of belonging.
